Wagner Giblin Insurance Agency

The agency was founded in October 1870 by John M. Daggett.

The Daggett Agency formed a partnership in 1932 with Wallace B. Hicks who became the sole owner of the agency, under the name of W. B. Hicks Agency.

The agency was placed in committee and ownership was transferred to Henry C. Herbolsheimer. In 1947 Mr. Herbolsheimer legally changed his name to Herbol and business was now conducted under the name of Henry C. Herbol.

Following the death of Henry C. Herbol in May 1958, his son Wesley C. Herbol carried on the business under the name of Herbol Insurance Agency. The agency was incorporated in December 1960.

In January 1962 Mr. Herbol merged with the Kibler-McMaster Agency of Girard and with the addition of new members, Abner McMaster and Evan J. MacEwen, the agency operated under the name of Herbol, McMaster & MacEwen at their present location, 3928 Avonia Road, Fairview PA. In January 1981 the agency adopted the name HMM Insurance Agency.

In 1986 the remaining partners, Wesley C. Herbol and Evan J. MacEwen sold the agency to Thomas J. Giblin.

In May 2000 Herbol Insurance Agency, Inc. acquired Wagner Insurance Associates, Inc. of Erie and the name was changed to Wagner Giblin Insurance Agency.
